Midthunder is a citizen of the Fort Peck Assiniboine and Sioux Tribe. She was originally of her home in the Navajo Nation of Shiprock in New Mexico. After spending the majority of her youth at Santa Fe (where she went to the Academy for Technology and the Classics and her mother worked at a casting company), she returned home. Amber has been identified as Native American on her father's side. Both are registered members of the Fort Peck Sioux Tribe. Amber is adopted in the home of an adoption mom as such, which is why Amber is not of known mixed heritage. Prey is a film with a large Native American cast including an amazing first-timer Dakota Beavers, as Naru's brother and a producer, Jhane Myers, who plays Comanche and Blackfeet and advised on the film extensively. Due to the period the film is set in, they were not able to cast any dog. Coco The adorable actor playing Sarii was selected for her specific rare breed that is that of the American Dingo. Carolina Dog is a breed that has existed for centuries.
